Why go to the trouble of selling your old car privately when you can part exchange it with elms Direct?
We’ll give you a fair price for your car, and take away the hassle of finding a buyer for it yourself. The part exchange valuation is valid against any BMW we have for sale.
We can consider any car in part exchange, so long as it is registered to you at a UK address. If you would like to part exchange your old car, please bring it with you when you visit us along with these items:
• Registration document (V5c)
• MOT certificate (if applicable)
• Any service history
• Driving licence (both parts if the photo card style)
• The vehicle Tax Disc
• All sets of keys or fobs including any masters and the key numbers
• The jack and tools supplied with the vehicle and the locking wheel nut adaptor if required
• The vehicle handbook
• The radio and any immobiliser codes
If there’s outstanding finance on the car you’ll also need to see a settlement letter from the finance company stating the current outstanding balance.
Ideally, we’d prefer one of our experts to check over your car in person so we can offer an accurate valuation. However, if you live more than 50 miles away, give us a call and we’ll ask you a few simple questions over the phone. One of our experts will provide a valuation, but this will only be confirmed once we have seen the car in the metal.
Please remember to give a true description of the car, including any dents and scratches. Otherwise we may have to adjust the part exchange offer later, which could mean paying more for your new car than originally agreed. If in any doubt then please send us a photo of the damage so we can value the car precisely.
If you are having a car delivered to your home and office rather than collecting it from one of our BMW dealerships we can still accept your old car as part exchange. When the driver arrives to deliver your new car, they’ll check the car’s age, condition and mileage tally with the description you have given. Provided everything tallies we’ll hand over your new car and take the old one away.
However, if the part exchange isn’t as described then we’ll need to revalue it. We’ll explain clearly why the value is lower than expected. You’ll need to cover any shortfall over the phone using a debit or credit card. If this isn’t possible then we’ll be unable to hand over your new car and you’ll be charged a cancellation fee of £100.
